Wish list

Since Christmas is drawing near, I thought I would show you guys what polishes I have been lusting after!

{First is Sally Hansen Nail Art Pens! I think these are so cool and never even discovered them until the other day! I really want the black, red, brown, and white. I want to do cheetah designs and the Burberry Print! }

{Next is OPI's Mad as a Hatter from the Alice In Wonderland Collection. It came out awhile ago but every where I went it was sold out!!! I really want to buy it off of Amazon!}

{Essie's Matte About You has been on my list ever since I bought Dovima by Essie. I LOVE MATTE NAILS! They just look so polished to me... no pun intended.}

{I saw Deborah Lippmann's Happy Birthday nail polish in a magazine and I am DYING to buy it... but it is $18 and I'm having a really hard time justifying that! Lol}

{I saw swatches of all of the China Glaze Holiday 2010 collection and they are ALL so pretty, even when its NOT the holidays. Plus you can get them for super cheap on 8ty8 beauty supply!}

{Just discovered this tonight actually... Sephora has a 18 pack of mini nail polishes of Sephora by OPI- which is one of my fav nail polish lines!! GREAT Christmas present for any nail polish addict or anyone who is looking to start their collection.}

{The other day I saw the 2010 Essie Fall collection at my local beauty store and the colors are SOOOO pretty!! I especially want the army green one!

I also wanted to add a few accessories that I have been wanting!

{Nail art wheels, so I can put all of my colors onto them and start doing nail art... which I don't do a lot of now! They are actually really cheap on 8ty8beauty.com, they are only $2.48 for a pack of 2!}

{This is my most wanted item!! I've been DYING for a couple of these nail polish wall racks! I finally found some for only $17.00!! }

What's on your Christmas List?

Mint-a-licious

I have been looking for a great mint colored nail polish but so many have been a disappointment. I bought one from Jessica Cosmetics awhile ago but the color just didn't look right with my skin tone.

I bought Minted by Revlon last week on a whim while I was at Walgreens and I love it! I think it might be one of my most complimented colors. I even had a teacher comment on it during class! lol

{Minted- Revlon}

The formula was a little hard to work with just like Fiji by Essie, but after a few layers it looked great! I've had it on for about a week now and it still hasn't chipped! :)

The Perfect Pink

The other day when I was having a girls day with my best friend, Hildur, we went to the beauty supply store to buy bleach for my hair and I picked up at bottle of nail polish while I was there (of course).

I've been on the search for that perfect pastel pink nail polish for a very long time! Most of them are too translucent for me but I finally found one that works. I bought Essie's Fiji which is a great color but there was something about the formula that I didn't like. For some reason it wouldn't go on smooth, which was a little frustrating. Maybe its just pastel colors that I always have a problem with because I never have a problem with Essie! They are my favorite brand!!!

{Essie- Fiji}

I loved the overall color though!! I had to do about 4 layers to make sure it was perfectly smooth and looked nice which was a little annoying but I officially found my favorite preppy pink!

Okay, this is just brilliant.

I love Zoya. They have soooo many color selections and I loooove their formula. I have ONE problem with them, they are not very accessible. I am the person who stands there FOREVER looking at nail polish because I HATE when I buy a color and I get it home and I already have something similar or the color pay off sucks. This is why I am skeptical of buying nail polish online.

About a year ago, I started following Zoya on Twitter because if you were part of the first 100,000 people (I think that's how many it was) to follow them then you got 3 free nail polishes of your choice!! Uh... who would turn that down? So I picked my 3 colors out, Dovima (Matte black, which is swatched in "Hi, my name is Matte"), Brooke (a shimmery pink with blueish undertones ) and Audrina (a creme pinkish purple). I had the hardest time picking colors because there were sooo many to choose from.

Brooke:

Audrina:

Dovima: (My fav)

When I received my nail polishes I was soooo excited ( I LOVE getting mail)!!

I was a little disappointed with Audrina and Brooke, the color pay off was great but they just don't look very good with my skin tone. I think I've only used Audrina once... but whatever, it was free!

However, I'm now VERY skeptical about buying nail polish online. Zoya, has figured out how to make it easy!

Zoya has created Color Spoons! Color Spoons are little spoons with the ACTUAL nail polishes on them that you can order online for $0.50 (FREE SHIPPING) so you can see what the actual color looks like and even match it to your skin tone!

I think this idea is brilliant and I wish that every nail polish company would do this! I'm ordering mine today! :) I'm on the quest to find the perfect baby pink nail polish and this makes it 10,000 times easier!

What colors will you get?

Inspiration: Chloe

I watched the movie Chloe (which I love- I have a total girl crush on Amanda Seyfried) tonight and I loved her short red nails through out the movie, so I decided to paint my nails red!

I used my favorite red nail polish, China Glaze Salsa!

Hi, my name is Matte.

Hi Everyone!!

For those of you who don't already know me, I'm Stephanie and my drug of choice is nail polish. :)

Almost anyone who knows me knows that I love nail polish. It's actually kind of weird because the ONE thing I get compliments on ALL the time is my hand/nails. I literally have complete strangers who walk up to me and ask to see my hands. A guy (that I hardly knew) at my old work told me that he wanted to be my manager if I ever became a hand model.... A GUY!!!

I used to wear solar nails with french tips for almost 4 years then my love affair with nail polish began... I buy about one bottle a nail polish a week, some times more. I try not to buy too much since I'm only a student and can't really afford it!

I remember when I was little, my best friend, Krystal, and I would paint our nails almost every day!! We would do American flags on our toes for 4th of July, neon colors, flower designs... you name it, we tried it!

A lot of woman I know express themselves through makeup or clothes, I express myself through nail polish!

This week I did Matte nails with glossy black tips!

I used Zoya's Matte black in Dovima as my main color

and China Glaze's Liquid Leather for the tips

I hope you all enjoy! Also, I'm always on the look out for great new (or old) colors so if you have any recommendations I'd love to hear them!

Stephanie
